Porcelain history
Dürrbeck & Ruckdäschel Porcelain Factory was established right
after World War I, when the demand for porcelain and for electrotechnical porcelain was very high, inside the country and abroad.
The factory first served this segment, but probably also produced household ware and gift articles.
Places to visit
Kleines Museum – Kultur auf der Peunt, with a façade created by
Marcello Morandini, is a museum for contemporary art. Besides changing art shows, the museum features the Italian artist’s works in its permanent exhibition.
In immediate proximity the ROGG-IN transmits, by interaction of
sensual experience and philosophic views, the historico-cultural and
nutritionally significance of the rye and its value. Immerse into the
poetry of rye.
And as poetic as idyllic is Weißenstädter See which, with its 4 km
long lake path and steles with poetry by Eugen Gomringer, invites for
a walk. People enjoying water sports will appreciate the 50 ha large
lake with a windsurfing school and a surf club.
