Porcelain history

Rudolf Weidermann’s porcelain manufactory founded in 1945 was
the last user of the bathhouse at the Quellenplatz. Porcelain was
refined in this establishment, before the building was demolished in
1965.

Places to visit

This mineral and mud health spa is a place for relaxation and health,
from which you may start to discover the Fichtelgebirge mountains.
Alexander von Brandenburg installed a bathhouse for the mineral
spring discovered in 1734 and then set up the Margrave castle, thus
laying the foundation stone for the later meeting place of the nobles.
Following the Prussian royal couple’s visit in 1805, more and more
members of the European high nobility met in this place. Today,
guests use the natural remedies for health care, recovery and wellness.

Enjoy the romantic flair which the historic buildings from the 18th
century are giving to the spa. Try the iron-acidulous healing waters
from spring Luise in the traditional way from a porcelain cup for
healing water and follow the traces of Queen Luise while walking
through the spa gardens. A marked walking trail is dedicated to her,
combining the historic places of the royals’ visit in 1805, the viewpoints and nature oasis (Queen Luise trail, start: parking at the town’s entrance).
