Tip of the Porcelain Queen
For more than 100 years, Marktleuthen has written china history. With the world-famous china manufactory Herend in Hungary a town twinning has existed for many years. Today Marktleuthen is known above all because of the china factory Heinrich Winterling & Co. KG.
Marktleuthen is situated in the romantic Egertal (Eger valley), surounded by the mountain ranges of the Fichtelgebirge. The town silhouette is characterised by the historical towers of the old school, the town hall as well as by the Protestant St. Nikolaus church. Impressive middle-class houses (above all from the 19th century) surround the central market place.
